Jordan Kopy’s debut middle grade novel, THEODORA HENDRIX AND THE MONSTROUS LEAGUE OF MONSTERS, a spooktacular comedy-horror, was published by Walker Books on 1st October, 2020.

THEODORA HENDRIX AND THE MONSTROUS LEAGUE OF MONSTERS is about a very unusual kid growing up in a very unusual family: When Theodora was just a baby, she was abandoned in a hobgoblin-infested cemetery. Zombie Georgie and vampire-cat Bandit rescue her, spiriting her away to 13 Battington Lane, home to the Monstrous League of Monsters. The kind-hearted monsters adopt Theodora, risking Headquarters’ wrath if they’re ever discovered. They get away with it, too – until a series of anonymous letters arrive, threatening to reveal their secret. Now, ten-year-old Theodora, joined by Sherman, the talking tarantula, and her new friend Dexter, is on a mission to discover the letter-writer; if she fails, she’ll lose her monster family – not to mention her freedom – forever.
In the Bookseller’s 2019 write-up of the deal, Emma Lidbury, Commissioning Editor at Walker Books, said: “This sharp, witty debut features a remarkably well-adjusted 10-year-old growing up in a remarkably unusual family. Jordan has created an engaging, likeable heroine in Theodora and devised a clever story arc that will have readers rooting for her all the way. And Jordan’s imagination is limitless – I suspect we will see many, many more monsters before the series is out!”
Jordan is thrilled that Theodora has made her way into the world, and hopes that everyone enjoys reading THEODORA HENDRIX AND THE MONSTROUS LEAGUE OF MONSTERS as much as she enjoyed writing it!
